Spectrum Health- Great Moms Program

GREAT MOMs (Grand Rapids Encompassing Addiction Treatment with Maternal Obstetric Management). The GREAT MOM’s program serves women with an opioid use disorder during their pregnancy. We provide encompassing care that includes both prenatal care and medications for opioid use disorder treatment. The program requires that a woman is willing to be our Total Care Patient for both OUD treatment and OB management at our downtown Grand Rapids location, Maternal Fetal Medicine office, 25 Michigan St, Suite 5200. We provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where women with an opioid use disorder can receive treatment appropriate to their stage of change. A board certified addiction medicine physician, waivered to prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone, Subutex and Zubsolv), will provide their MOUD (medications for opioid use disorder). A certified nurse midwife, who is also waivered to prescribe Buprenorphine, works in collaboration with a team of high-risk maternal fetal medicine physicians to provide delivery, ultrasounds, and lab work for their pregnancy.
